Getting to Know FAÇEV: Department and Club Orientation Event

In the first week of the new academic year, FAÇEV (FSMVÜ Translation Club) organized a comprehensive orientation event to introduce both our department and our club to the new students. The event began in the Simultaneous Interpretating Lab, where our professors warmly welcomed the newcomers and shared detailed information about the department’s structure, course content, and main objectives within the field of translation.

During the short yet informative presentations, students learned about our department’s mission, academic expectations and the various career opportunities available to them. In addition, we talked about our club’s purpose, previous projects and the activities we plan to organize throughout the year. Thanks to this event, new students had the chance to get to know both our department and the opportunities offered by FAÇEV more closely.

 

Campus Tour

After the presentations, we took the first-year students on a guided campus tour together with our advisor. During the walk, we showed them where the classrooms are located, where the administrative offices can be found, and introduced them to key areas such as the library and social spaces that students frequently use. This tour helped the newcomers become more familiar with the campus and gave them a chance to chat with us, ask questions, and feel more comfortable in their new environment.

 

Moving Forward Together

At the end of the tour, we took a few group photos to capture the memory of the day and wrapped up our event on a cheerful note. Through this orientation, we aimed to help new students adapt more easily to both our department and club activities. As FAÇEV, we strive to create an environment where students can improve themselves not only academically but also socially and culturally.

We wish all our new friends a productive, successful, and fulfilling semester as they begin this exciting new chapter of their university life!
